Jatiluwih Rice Terraces
The Tegalalang terraces are a short drive from Ubud Tours and can be easily reached by car. Several waterfalls have been added as tourist attractions in recent years. The drive takes about an hour and a half, and most hostels can help you arrange a driver for the day. The terraces are about 40 km from Ubud, so a small rental car will be fine.
The terraces are open from 8am to 6pm daily, and the coolest time is from 4pm. After that, you should avoid driving through the terraces unless you want to experience the sunset. If you do drive, make sure you take your time and don’t get lost. The rice terraces are easily accessible by car, but be aware that you will need to pay to visit them.
Tibumana Waterfall
To make the most of your trip to Bali, you should consider visiting the Tibumana Waterfall. Located about 30 minutes outside of Ubud, this waterfall is a mystical sight. Tirta Empul Temple
One of the most popular day trips from Ubud is to Tirta Empul Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to the Hindu god of water, Vishnu. The temple features numerous fountains and a long rectangular Koi-filled pool. This temple is located about 35 minutes north of Ubud and is a must-see on your next visit to Bali.
The main attraction of Tirta Empul is its 26 water fountains. Despite being waist-deep, the water here is fresh and incredibly sacred. Hindus perform a ritual here to cleanse their souls, and the fountains line up from north to south. The water fountains are also known to calm psychiatric problems and cure skin ailments.
The temple itself has an inner courtyard, or jeroan, that is perfect for prayer. A large water spring flows into the pond, feeding a number of purification pools. Green algae and tiny fish swim in and around the reeds. Behind the water springs are several large Hindu shrines that are brightly decorated. The colorful shrines contrast beautifully with the white clothing of the locals.
Dreamland Beach
If you’re a fan of big waves and sunsets, Dreamland Beach is a must-see destination on your next trip to Bali. This idyllic stretch of sand is famous for its panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and romantic sunsets. For the more adventurous, the area is also a great place to go surfing, with some of the best reef breaks and big waves in the country.
For something completely different, take a boat ride to Dreamland Beach, located about an hour’s drive from Bali Ubud Tours. The island’s clear waters attract surfers from around the world. You’ll also have an opportunity to see monkeys in their natural habitat. These adorable creatures are very playful, but you should be prepared for them to steal your sunglasses and snacks.
