A motor start capacitors is a special type of capacitor that works in conjunction with short AC motors. These capacitors are responsible for running or running an AC motor to make them run. There are three types of motor capacitors: Front, Run and Dual Run. Each type of application has its specific application. A front capacitor connect to an AC motor sends a current to the motor to start it. A working capacitor connect to an AC motor emits a regular series of vibrations that support the motor. Motor capacitors are often use in air conditioners. These capacitors run on three different motors: the compressor motor, the fan and the fans.
Motor Start capacitor
The starting capacitors are responsible for increasing the initial torque of the AC motor. Causing the AC motor to move forward and backward quickly. Starting capacitors are electrochemical devices made from tightly wound aluminum foil separate. From the paper layer and fill with a conductive electrolyte.
The effective area and capacitance of the foil per unit volume of the finish capacitor increases. The assembly is house in a moisture and oil resistant plastic case. Ignition capacitors are design to operate at ambient temperatures between -40 °C and +65 °C. And between 50 Hz and 60 Hz (not recommend at higher frequencies).
The front capacitors have a fix capacitance and voltage. They usually have a capacitance range above 70uF.

Note. All starting capacitors rate above 20uF are non-polar, non-rigid electrolytic capacitors.
Motor Run capacitor
A rotating magnetic field is require to ignite many single-phase AC motor. The operating Motor run capacitors is responsible for creating a second phase winding (auxiliary winding) in the AC motor. Which is create in exchange for a rotating magnetic field that rotates the motor.
Compare to electrolytic capacitors which are ideal for energy use. Working capacitors come in two different styles, wet and dry. The wet condenser is fill with a liquid that prevents the condenser from overheating. The dry style comes with the same dielectric. Currently, most operating capacitors come with polypropylene or polyester dielectric film.
Motor run capacitors have a fix capacity and voltage. Capacity varies from 1.5uF to 100uF.

Dual run capacitor
Dual-function capacitors are powertrain capacitors that can power three or more electric motors. This capacitor saves space. When use because the two capacitors are connect in one package.
