The importance of namaz is well documented in the Quran, Hadith, and other Islamic texts. According to the Mi’raj (speech of the prophet), every Muslim is required to offer namaz at least 5 times daily. There is no exemption for non-performers, and they will be punished on the Day of Judgement. Here is the explanation of five-rakat namaz.
Five-rakat namaz
In the five-rakat namaz, the woman should cover her body with material while she prays. The woman should also make sure that her clothes are tucked in. However, if the clothing is not tucked in, she should put on more material before performing the salat. The salat starts with a prayer intention, which is done by raising both hands towards Allah and saying, “Allahu akbar.”
The Five-rakat namaz is a very important ritual for Muslims. It is said that it is the most important act of worship, a way to express one’s gratitude and love to Allah. Although the Five-rakat namaz is not explicitly stated in the Quran, it is implied that the five prayers should be performed daily. These five times are Salat al-fajr, Salat al-asr, Salat al-maghrib, and Salat al-zuhr.
Salat
The Salat after Namaz is a ritual performed immediately after the completion of the morning and evening prayers. Prophet Muhammad and his companions used to perform the Salat on a mat. Prophet Muhammad performed a prostration before the salutation, and all prostrated, except one old man. The old man then bowed his head and lifted a handful of pebbles or dust from the ground to his forehead.
The taslim, or the final rak’ah, is read. Then the prayerer rises from the prostration. The Salawat is followed by the takbir, which is the praise of Allah. Then the worshipper reads the Salawat and tashahhud, which are two different prayers that can be performed at the end of the prayer.
Tasleem
The word ‘tasleem’ in Islam means submission. This does not raise any questions, but Islam is more complicated than that. The term also refers to a Muslim’s obligation to perform certain acts for the benefit of others. For example, a Muslim should perform a dhikr (prayer) if he wishes to see Allah’s pleasure. Nevertheless, a Muslim must not forget the basic rules of Islam, and should be careful to observe them as much as possible.
The Imamis state that a tasleem must always contain the definite article, so if you merely recite the phrase “Assalamu alaika wa rahmatu allahu wa barakatuh”, this is not enough. “Salaamoo ‘Alaykum’ is also not sufficient, as it has a ‘waw’ in it.
Salat al-Istikhaarah
The first part of the prayer, Salat al-Istikhaarah, focuses on achieving a specific goal. It is a form of submission to Allah. This prayer teaches us to rely on Allah for guidance and permission in achieving our goals. Besides this, the Istikhara prayer is a good way to learn how to pray in the right way. By following the correct prayer form, you can be sure of achieving your goals.
The second part of Salat al-Istikhaarah focuses on achieving spiritual goals. The istikharah prayer is made up of two rakat salah, which include the prescribed supplication wordings. This prayer helps people find direction, advice, and health through Allah’s help. It also purifies the heart and soul and brings them close to the Almighty Lord.
Performing it in congregation
Performing Namaz in congregation is considered obligatory in Islam. This is because Allah commanded the second party to pray in congregation. This action signifies that a person must pray in a mosque in order to receive the rewards for it. This also indicates that the second party must not pray in his home. This is a reprehensible act, which is a characteristic of hypocrites. Performing Namaz in congregation is not a sin, but it is highly recommended.
The Imam of a mosque will recite the Qur’an and the surahs in the first two rak’ahs. The people behind the imam will recite the rest of the Qur’an. The imam is not allowed to recite the entire surahs. However, the imam of a mosque is allowed to read a surah, if he is not a member of the congregation.
