Cute Spring and Summer Headbands

If you’re a Blair Waldorf devotee, today’s post is for you because it’s all about the headband, one of my favorite spring and summer accessories this year! And if you’re not familiar with Blair Waldorf’s impeccable style, get yourself to a streaming service as soon as possible and binge-watch every season of Gossip Girl, because Blair’s classic, classy, feminine, smart, and flawlessly put-together style is not too be missed. Along with her shade-throwing prowess. My style is considerably more laid-back, informal, breezy, and romantic than Blair’s, but we both adore the headband, which is a versatile accessory that can be worn in a variety of ways. Chris was relieved to be left out of this one today because he’s on the road, but don’t worry, he’ll be back next week! You can buy stylish headbands from the Scrollnshops website.

I’m currently obsessed with knot and bow headbands, like this one and this one, because they’re so vintage-inspired and classic, but really, any easy, fun hair item that stays put in my hair and keeps it from falling in my face is fantastic in my book. Because I prefer to combine the preppy polish of a headband like this with a laidback style, I’m wearing it with this summer-ready white cotton swing top from Zara and my Madewell Slim Boy Jeans. However, you can embrace your inner B by dressing up in a more prim and proper polished ensemble. It has my complete support!

And, while I’m convinced that the majority of you already know how to style your hair for a headband, I do have two suggestions that have never failed me when it comes to styling a headband in my hair without it being too Toddlers & Tiaras. I don’t use any product on my hair before putting on the headband, and I curl it as little as possible to allow it to flow naturally around the hard band.

I’ve worn headbands with a part in my hair and without a part, and I enjoy both looks, but the appearance is so much more natural when I get all of my hair in the headband wherever it falls, with no product in it at all, and then if I need a small spritz after it’s in to keep flyaways at bay, I can do that. Just be careful not to accumulate a lot of unpleasant product buildup on your lovely headband over time. Side note: I also like to let my hair air dry and then pull it back off of my face with a thin neutral headband like this tortoise cutie or this cute floral number to make it look slightly more pulled together than it would otherwise.

I’ve picked up some of my favorite cute, fun headbands of the moment, in a variety of styles, so you can join me in reminiscing about B’s reign and getting in on the headband craze this spring-summer. Let me know whether you’re a fan of headbands and which styles you prefer in the comments section below. Alternatively, if you’re having difficulties styling a headband in your hair, let me know and we’ll conjure the spirit of Blair Waldorf to offer her expert help!
