The Best Thing About Rain: How to Enjoy It With Your Kids

Love and rain quotes for friends. Sharing love with friends is best made through romantic love quotes and sayings, rain quotes and sayings, and rainy love poetry to show your love through text messages.

1. Read

Reading is fun, and it’s a great way to spend time with your kids. It can help kids become better writers, learn about the world around them, and develop a love of reading that will last their whole lives.

  • Whether it’s a picture book or a chapter book, reading is an enjoyable activity for parents and children alike.
  • Reading helps you learn about the world around you. If you want your child to do well in school and understand what they’re learning about social studies or science classes, taking time out of every day for reading can help them become more knowledgeable about different topics.
  • It improves vocabulary skills too. Having large vocabulary will help children succeed later in life by increasing their chances of getting good grades at school and getting good jobs after graduation from college or university

2. Get out your paints.

For this activity, you’ll need a big canvas or piece of paper. Make sure it’s waterproof, you can do this by laying it out on the grass to make sure any dirt washes off easily, or by painting a layer of diluted acrylic paint over top.

If you’re using real paint, remember that kids under 6 should only use non-toxic finger paints (and even then, supervise carefully). If you want to make the art last longer than an afternoon (though the water will probably wear away at least some of your work), try mixing up some poster paint with a bit of water and letting it dry onto cardboard instead.

Once everything’s ready, let your little painter get creative. You might want to give them some ideas about what kinds of things might look good down in the rain: maybe they could draw butterflies flying above puddles or leaves falling from trees into puddles below them? Whatever they come up with will be fun for everyone involved.

3. Create a rain song

Rainy days are a great opportunity to create your own rain songs, dance and play with your children. You can sing or play jazz hands or make up your own song. If you have instruments, they will be even more fun. Kids love making noise and being creative. Don’t forget to join them in your own crazy songs.

A good way to start is by creating a band with different instruments for each family member (or friend). Everyone can join in on the fun by adding their voice or playing an instrument themselves,  it doesn’t matter if it isn’t perfect because that makes it even more exciting.

Or maybe you want something more calming? Then close your eyes and do some rain dances with your children – see who can move their bodies in different ways while listening closely to the sounds around them.

4. Take a hike

Go on a hike. There’s tons of fun to be had outside when it rains. Rain is one of the best things about summer, and it’s especially great for getting kids to play outside.

Here are some ideas for what you can do with your kids on a rainy day:

  • Find out what makes rain, how it is formed, and why there are different types of storms (for example, hurricanes). You might even learn that there are lots of different names for raindrops.
  • Talk about what happens to soil when it rains. This will help them understand how plants grow better in moist conditions than dry ones. Plus they’ll be able to tell you what happens when water falls on the ground instead of evaporating into clouds or being absorbed by plants before reaching Earth’s surface (hint: this has something to do with evapotranspiration).
  • See how the rain affects plants and animals (you might even notice more butterflies around). If your child likes animals then take him/her out into nature so he/she can see how animals react in different weather conditions.

5. Bake something

This activity is as much fun for you as it is for your kids. You get to eat the finished product, while they get to watch their creation come together. The best part is that baking isn’t hard to do with kids, they can help with all kinds of tasks, from measuring ingredients and stirring batter to setting out the ingredients on a cutting board or plate before you start mixing them together in a bowl.

Only do this activity with adult supervision if you are young or new at cooking. It’s important not to leave children alone in the kitchen while cooking because they could accidentally turn on an oven or stove without realizing that these appliances are hot and dangerous.
