Central University Entrance Test (CUET) is national level entrance exam conducted by NTA.Under the New Education Policy, the Government of India has declared the entrance test a mandatory admission requirement. Students seeking admission into various programs in central universities have to take the test. Prior, the test was known as CUCET (Central Universities Common Entrance Test). It has now been replaced with the name CUET.
CUET 2022 Key Points
Noticeable changes introduced in CUET 2022:
- The exam name has now been changed to the name CUET.
- 53 Central Universities and Private Universities will accept CUET 2022 scores.
- CUET 2022 exam will be conducted in 13 languages.
- The exam includes a compulsory language test, two domain-specific tests, and a general test.
- CUET 2022 will be conducted in 547 cities within India and 13 cities abroad.
- Approximately one lakh candidates are expected to appear for CUET 2022.

Importance of CUET Exam 2022
Conducted by The National Testing Agency (NTA), CUET is likely to dismiss the board results as the sole criteria for admission. It will save the students’ time, money and effort. And, the students will only have to prepare and appear for one common test.
CUET Exam 2022 Test Pattern
The CUCET exam will be conducted in 13 languages, listed below-
Assamese, Bengali, English, Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
The test will be divided into the following sections –
- Section IA & IB: Languages (Reading Comprehension)
- Section II: Domain-Specific
- Section III: General Aptitude
CUET 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should check the required eligibility criteria set bythe Central Universitiesto apply and appear for CUET 2022. Students must the CUET Academic Qualification for their desired course.
- All Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.

| PhD Program | The candidate must have a post-graduate degree in the particular stream with a minimum of 55% marks for General Category. 50% marks for OBC candidates. 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates. |
- Important Note for PhD Applicants:
Candidates who have qualified CSIR UGC NET (JRF), GATE, NBHM will have to register for the exammandatorily. They don’t have to take the entrance test.
CUET 2022 Reservations
According to the norms set by the Government of India, the Central Universities provide relaxation for intake and reservation of seats. It is done for SC/ST, OBC, and PwD categories.

CUET 2022 Exam Structure

CUET Exam 2022 Marking Scheme
- 175 questions in total.
- MCQ pattern to be followed.
- Every correct answer will carry4 marks each.

CUET Exam 2022 Cut Off
- The cut off list will be released after all the processes of the CUET exam 2022 are completed.
- The cut off will be released along with the scorecard of the entrance exam.
- Candidates who score more than the cut off marks are eligible for admission.
- They will be then able to participate in the CUET counseling process.
- The CUET 2022 cut off will depend upon the total number of applicants, exam difficulty level; previous year cut offs and number of seats available.
